School Funding Requests on Nov. 3 Ballot

The Oshkosh Area School District has two school funding requests on the Nov. 3 ballot:

  • Q1: renew existing funds for school operations

  • Q2: invest capital funds to improve district school buildings

If voters approve Q1, funds would support academic programs, technology for learning and student support services - with no tax increase.

If voters approve Q2, funds would be invested in our school buildings to improve safety and accessibility, provide more flexible learning spaces, address building maintenance needs and create more cost-effective schools.

The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is alive at South Park Middle School even while we are currently learning in Model 4.  We have students in our school community that are in need during the holiday season.  If you are interested in helping those students in need, please reach out to Heather Wolters, School Counselor at heather.wolters@oshkosh.k12.wi.us.  Mrs. Wolters will provide you with information on specifics that would help a South Park student this year. Some examples of items could be sweatshirts, socks, hygiene products, gift cards to local fast food restaurants. Due to covid, South Park staff will arrange either porch pick up at your house or drop off at the South Park entrance by December 13th.   Participating in The Giving Tree can help you or your family experience the joy of giving this holiday season.  Thank you in advance for your generosity! Stay safe and healthy!

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be posted at weeks 5,10, and 15 of the semester. An email will be sent to tell you the grades have been posted since the district has gone paperless. Just as grades are dependent on the requirements in the classroom, progress report marks are too. If you have any questions about the progress of your child, please contact your child's teacher.

Parent/Teacher Conferences Nov. 10 & 19 4:00 - 7:00 pm

Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching.  They will be held on November 10 and November 19 both days from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  We believe that this time with you, your child, and the teacher is one of the most important ways you can work together as a team to have your child be successful even in a virtual environment.

Conferences will be held virtually due to COVID 19.  In order to sign up for a conference with one or more of your child's teachers, please go to: https://ptcfast.com/schools/South_Park_Middle_School.

There you can select which teacher/s you want to see for a conference.  Once you sign up, you will get emailed a confirmation and reminders.  The teacher will send you a Google Meet link for the actual virtual conference.  Here is a link for parent directions on how to sign up for a conference through PTCFast if needed: PTCFast Parent Sign Up Directions

Your knowledge of your child at home and the teacher's insights into the virtual classroom will help develop a plan for your child to be successful moving forward.   Teachers are looking forward to seeing you on November 10 and 19!

LEARN MORE:

Students should be sure they are checking in using IC for attendance each day virtually. Remember to contact the attendance office if your child is unable to participate in Virtual Learning on any given day.

Infinite Campus Messenger

One of the benefits of our student information system, Infinite Campus, is the messenger program. Through the Parent Portal Inbox, via Email, Voice, and/or Text. in order to save paper, we will be emailing the link to the South Park Newsletter with a target date of the first of every month. Please check to see that your current email is listed in your contact information on the Portal. There may be times when we send out a message via phone or text as well, so it is important that we have current contact information in our system.
