Oshkosh West /Oshkosh North's Open House:
8th Grade Students
Is your 8th grader interested in taking an Advanced Placement course? Oshkosh West High School offers AP World History as one option for freshmen. AP World History is an extremely rigorous course for college-bound students who are highly motivated, enjoy history, and have strong reading and writing skills. An informational meeting for students and parents will be held on January 6th at 5:15 pm in the auditorium at Oshkosh West.
Student Safety Concerns
We have received several complaints from concerned citizens and the Oshkosh Police Department about several students from South Park Middle School going out onto the ice in the lagoons in the park across the street. This is unsafe behavior for our students as the lagoons are part of the storm water system and as such the water is always moving. Because of this moving water, the ice will never be safe. Students that are found to be making unsafe choices on the lagoon will be referred to the school/police and parents will be contacted.
Thank You South Park Community!
Tuesday, December 10th was an excellent night to come out to Culver’s and support South Park’s PBIS program. We earned $298 for PBIS. The Panther Way is about respect, responsibility and safety on our school campus. Here is a HUGE thank you to all that were involved!!!
Also, thank you to all the families and staff that participated in South Park's giving tree. The holidays will be a little brighter this year for South Park students due to the generosity of South Park families and staff. Students received items both wanted and needed and were extremely thankful for the gifts. The giving tree at South Park is a long standing tradition that brings a lot of smiles to all who either give or receive.
Programming for 2020-2021
Current 6th & 7th grade students will be scheduling for their classes on the following dates during Morning Meeting:
7th Gr - Jan. 16
6th Gr - Jan. 15
Prior to that, we will be sending parents an email with the course booklet and your child will bring home a programming form with their choices for next year. Please review what you would like your child to take for the following school year and have them bring their form with them on Jan. 15 or 16.
PTN would like to thank all of the parents who helped make the Staff Holiday Luncheon a success. It was greatly appreciated by all!
The popcorn fundraiser has also been a huge success. Thank you to everyone who participated. We will have additional popcorn buying opportunities in January and February during the girl's basketball season. We do need help staffing our table for a few more dates. Please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/XBZLyCu
Put Friday Night Frenzy on your calendar for on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 6-8:30. There will be raffles, music, concessions, board games, photo booth, open gym, and an inflatable obstacle course. The next PTN meeting is set for Monday, January 27th in the Media Center at 6:00 pm. We will have a short meeting, but will primarily be putting together raffle baskets for Friday Night Frenzy. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Students will be able to order yearbooks in late January or early February. An email will be sent out letting you know specifically when the order envelopes are coming home. All orders will be through Harmann Studios. The cost of the yearbooks will be $14.00.
2019-2020 Middle School CATS will run every Monday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:45 on any days that school is in session until late May. All 5 - 8th grade girls and boys are welcome. We teach the fundamental techniques of the core weight training exercises starting with PVC pipes and move on to appropriate weights as the kids become proficient. We also do speed and agility training. There is no official registration - just show up as many days as they can. Students will meet in the weight room at Oshkosh West High School, it's on the far north end of the building by the gyms.
