South Park Mission Statement
At South Park Middle School, education is a continuous transitional experience, which promotes positive intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth. Students are encouraged to maximize individual potential to function in a diverse society.
Progress reports will be posted at weeks 5, 10, and 15 of the semester. An email will be sent to you when the grades have been posted since the district has gone paperless. Just as grades are dependent on the requirements in the classroom, progress report marks are too. If you have any questions about the progress of your child, please contact the teacher.
15 week progress reports will be available on the Infinite Campus Portal on December 18, 2019.
The South Park Ski Club will be taking 4 trips to Nordic Mountain this winter. The first trip is on December 13th. Buses leave South Park right after school dismisses and return between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m. A contact reminder for those participating in the club is Mr. M. Meyer at firstname.lastname@example.org or voicemail at 424-1228 extension 6482. Please click here to find more information about ski club.
Please come and support “The Panther Way” at our Culver’s Night! We will be hosting a fundraiser at The Culver’s at 1580 Koeller Street on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Staff will be there to serve food and 10% of the profits come back to South Park to help support the Panther Way! It’s a great way to support the positive things the students and staff are doing at South Park Middle School. We hope to see you there!
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is alive at South Park Middle School! We have students at our school that are in need during the holiday season. If you are interested in helping those students in need, you can stop by the office starting Monday, November 25 and take a mitten off the Giving Tree. On it will be information such as gender, age, needs, clothing sizes, likes, and extras. Once you take a mitten, please purchase some or all of the items on the mitten. We would ask that gifts not be wrapped but could be put in a gift bag. Please tape the mitten to the gifts/gift bag to ensure that the gifts are given to the correct child. Please return gift bags by Friday, December 13. If you would like to contribute and don’t have time to shop, you are welcome to donate cash or gift cards and we will do the shopping for you. Participating in The Giving Tree can help you or your family experience the joy of giving this holiday season. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Team 40959, Feddy and the Gang, from South Park competed with 22 Wisconsin teams at the Sunday Lakeshore Tournament. They brought home the Core Value award for their outstanding teamwork and are working hard to spread the word about bike safety. They have come up with an innovative solution called Blinklery to help. Blinkerly is a fashionable yet functional sweatshirt that uses bluetooth buttons attached to bike handlebars connected to LEDs that display a signal on the back to indicate which direction a child is turning on their bike. They are working to create a fully functional prototype to present to the judges at the sectional competition in Appleton. Check out their informational video on bike safety here to help spread the word!
Chamber Essay Contest Winner
Vincent Behrend was chosen as this year’s Oshkosh Chamber Essay Contest winner for having the best essay in the class. The topic of the paper was to write about SMC, the manufacturing company that he toured during our field trip. As a winner, he will be recognized in the “Good News Report” at the next school board meeting, he is invited to the Oshkosh Rotary Luncheon and he will receive an Oshkosh Chamber gift certificate! Congratulations Vincent!
