Here they are, Ms. Weisse’s students are here to report their favorite books from quarter two. There is fantasy, suspense, humor, and some with a mix of it all. We hope this helps you find your next book!

Scar Island

The book Scar Island is a book of wild drama and mystery by Dan Gemeinhart. Kids are stuck on an island alone and don’t know what to do. Will they make it home? What problems will they face? Scar Island is a book about a small island called the Slabhendge where the law sends kids who have done bad things there. One day, all the adults die. The kids decide to stay and try ruling this place on their own. One kid named Sebastian is in charge, and  he is no different than the old Admiral. Collin cannot take it, and he does something  Sebastian will make him regret. The main character Jonathan doesn’t know what to do.  Will he solve this problem? What unfound secrets lie behind the Slabhendge?

My favorite character is Collin. Collin is very brave and courageous. Collin is very  sneaky, but a nice friend. He sneaks some breakfast for the new kid (Jonathan) and  becomes friends with him. Collin is a very smart boy, and if he thinks something is  wrong, you should listen. But that mistake was made. He acts innocent, but be careful  and don’t mess with Collin’s friends, he may be more sneaky than you think.

I recommend this book to ages 10-18. Anybody who likes drama, mystery, and  cliffhanger will LOVE this book. It’s an amazing book and it keeps getting better. Once  you find out the storyline, the book gets some drama. It's kinda sad, but I definitely  recommend this book to everyone who likes drama, mystery, and cliffhanger.

 Warriors

 By Erin Hunter

For generations, four Clans have shared the forest: ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, and WindClan. But, ThunderClan is in danger and ShadowClan, with evil leadership, is growing stronger everyday. In the midst of all this turmoil appears a housecat named Rusty, who might turn out to be the bravest Warrior of all. Personally, my favorite part is when Yellowfang is introduced into the story. Because of her rough past, dark humour, and strong heart, she’s become a favorite to  me. The author clearly tried very hard to hint at Yellowfang’s secrets and past. Yellowfang has  saved ThunderClan a variety of times. Whether it just be getting rid of a bellyache, or saving the  Clan from a fire!

I would recommend this book/series to ages 8 and up. If you like animals, fantasy, or action,  you should definitely consider this book! There are many violent parts in the entire series, but  Warriors can help introduce younger audiences to blood, war, and death. There are many plot twists and mysteries throughout the books!

Forget Me

The mysterious book Forget Me is by Kim Harrington. It’s about a girl named  Morgan who lost her boyfriend Flynn three months ago after he went out onto the road  and got run over by an SUV. Her best friend, Toni, convinces her to upload a picture of  Flynn on FriendShare for closure. FriendShare tags the image of Flynn as someone  called Evan Murphey, who looks exactly like Fynn, and might as well be the same person.

And unlike Flynn, Evan is definitely alive. Morgan starts to think that Flynn has faked his death  after all.

I would say that my favorite character is Toni. She is always there to help out Morgan  and give her support. She helps with figuring out the mystery of Even and Flynn and helps  Morgan search for clues by breaking into Evan’s house despite thinking it’s a terrible idea. She  also is there to be sarcastic and funny. I would say that her and Morgan’s friendship is one of  main topics of the story.

Ungifted

The book Ungifted by Gordon Korman is a book about a boy named Donovan Curtis who is well, you guessed it, ungifted. Donovan  tends to do things without thinking about it, and as you’d think, he gets in trouble, a lot of  trouble.

In the book something happens, Donovan gets into trouble, but this time it is worse,  he accidentally breaks something made by the school he goes to. Little did he know  something weird happens, he gets away with it, all because he was accidentally signed onto  a list, a list that would then get him into a place he’d never forget, a gifted school. But you’ll  have to read the book to know what actually happens in the book.

My favorite character in the book is Donovan. Dononvan is my favorite character  because he is just like me. Sometimes Donovan does things without thinking, but then he  also is a good friend throughout the book, he even is good at video games too, all just like me.  Oh and also Donovan is pretty persistent sometimes, and he always helps out with people  that need help, that’s why Donovan is my favorite character.

I recommend Ungifted if you like books that start off slow but get good soon,  books that are a little funny, and books that make you think “man I wonder what will  happen next?” I also recommend this book to people that are just trying to find their  next favorite book, but I only recommend Ungifted to people who are at a fifth grade level  and higher, even adults can read it if they want to! I also rate the book a 9.5 out of 10, only  because it isn't fully my style of book, but other than that it is a really good book.

The Girl who was Supposed to Die

“Take her out back and finish her off” She doesn’t know who she is  or why she is there. The Girl who was Supposed to Die A thrilling book by April Henry. Why is she there who took her there and why did they want her dead? Why did they take her in the first place? And why her? So many questions. Can they be answered? Read this book to find out.

My favorite part is when she woke up and they were taking her where no gunshots  could be heard. And when she found a gun in his pocket she hit the guy with a rock and  ran out to the cabin where they were keeping her in, and found out what they were  doing to her. She also found a photo and she thinks it might be her family. She looked in  the mirror to see if she was that little girl in the photo. And then she saw someone. Did  she get caught? And if she did, how did she escape?

If you like suspense, murder or action, you may like The Girl who was Supposed to Die.  This book is great in the way it is written, The suspense is a key part of the story. I recommend this book for ages 10+. And if I had to rate this book a rating I will give it a 5  out of 5 stars. Thank you for taking the time to read this book review.
