APPROPRIATE DRESS
As the weather remains warm in the fall, we want to remind students about dressing appropriately at school. At South Park Middle School, we want to create an environment conducive to learning.  We view the school as a work site with the expectation of professionalism and success.  Therefore the following dress code exists:
•      Hats/headwear/hood/coats allowed only outside
•      Undergarments, cleavage, & midriffs should not be showing
•      Shoulders should be covered
•      Short shorts/skirts should not exposure of buttocks or undergarments.
•      No wearing of items that reference alcohol/tobacco/illegal drugs, sexual references, gang-related, or other  inappropriate topics for a school setting
•      Pajamas/pajama or lounge pants/slippers should not be worn at school (unless there is a special dress up day)
If dress is deemed inappropriate, the staff or principal/designee will ask the child to change, cover up, or go home to change.  In some cases items may be confiscated until parents are able to pick them up.
