Summer is an excellent opportunity for students to explore new interests, strengthen academic skills, and stay engaged in learning. The Oshkosh Area School District's (OASD) Summer School program offers a wide range of FREE opportunities for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Concept Quests encourages students to be mathematical problem solvers, sensemakers, thinkers, and doers. Concept Quests consists of Excursions and Adventures. Course Description: In this hands-on, engaging class, students will explore the world of LEGO building through a variety of fun and challenging activities. Course Description: Ignite your child’s imagination in this hands-on summer art adventure! Crafty Kids is designed to celebrate individuality and foster a love for creativity. Course Description: In this course, we will make our way through the book "Parachutes and Ribbons and Scarves, Oh My!" by Artie Almeida. Course Description: Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, this class is for you! For students entering grades 4-5 and have read any of the Harry Potter books or seen any of the movies. We will immerse ourselves in the magical world of Hogwarts. Students will get sorted and participate in some of the classes that students at Hogwarts take their first and second year. We will look closely at the characters from the books as we read from the series. Among the many activities we will participate in are playing Quidditch, doing craft projects such as making wands, participating in competitions in the Tri Wizard Tournament, and learning the elements of creative writing.

Course Description: This course is for students entering grade 7 who want to enroll in Integrated Math 7/8 in the fall but have not previously taken Integrated Math 6/7. This course will cover grade 7 content from Integrated Math 6/7. It is recommended that students taking this course show an interest in being challenged in math and score in the Proficient and Advanced range on their report card and Meeting and Advanced on the Wisconsin Forward. Students who take this course are not required to enroll in Integrated 7/8, but this course is required for students who want to enroll in Integrated 7/8 for the fall.

Course Description: This year’s exciting new program, Spark, inspires curiosity and helps kids build essential STEM skills through collaboration with friends and one-of-a-kind creative problem-solving experiences. Campers explore hands-on challenges and open-ended adventures designed to encourage new discoveries and bring big ideas to life!
Students are able to attend Camp Invention as well as one or two four week summer school courses and any other music or athletic camps for their age group.
Registration for this exciting opportunity will open on March 2, 2026 and close when capacity is reached.
NOTE: Limited registration for students entering 7-9 grades as Leadership Interns in Training (LITs register and pay the $45 supply fee)

Beginning Band 6 - 7

Course Description: For band students entering 6th grade (or 7th grade as a beginner). Beginning Band Camp is a one week class, which will include individual, small group and large group instruction and fun activities. This is a great week to get ready for the next school year!
There will be a demonstration concert on Friday, August 14 at 10 AM to showcase the skills learned.
Eligibility: Student needs to be registered for Fall Band Class.

Course Description: A fitness reward awaits -students experience personal change, both physically and mentally, from the Personal Fitness course journey. The course begins with an assessment of each student's current physical condition. Workout logs enable students to measure individual progress. Realistic goals, set with the guidance of a training instructor, help students reach their personal fitness goals. Students travel through the virtual town of Wellville and learn about exercise, conditioning, managing stress, diet, and nutrition. A fitness program is developed and tailored to each student's needs. By following personalized training principles, students feel energy levels increase and gain confidence from personal success. Engagement in exercise and physical activity according to personal plans leads students toward developing healthy habits that will last a lifetime. The best way to live a healthy life is to prevent health problems before they occur - this course helps students do just that. And the best time to start is right now. This course will only count as a one-time credit toward your Physical Education graduation requirement.

The majority of students who will get a spot in our summer BTW program completed the classroom session during the spring semester. There may be a few openings for those in the session 1 summer classroom, but the majority of summer classroom students will take BTW during the fall semester.

Course Description: Jazz Ensemble students study and perform music of the jazz idiom, including improvisation, jazz rock, blues, swing, Latin, etc. This course will serve as an introduction to the rich history of jazz music. Through ensemble rehearsal, individual practice, small group sectionals, and performance opportunities, the students will gain an understanding and appreciation for this great art form.
Emphasis will be placed on not just performance technique, but also rudimentary improvisational skills, musicianship, and the history and culture of this uniquely American art form. This ensemble is a skilled effort in which each student is expected to show technical and musical growth throughout this course.

- Grade Level: Register based on the grade your student will enter in Fall 2026. (Example: A current 1st grader registers for 2nd-grade classes.)
- Locations: If you register for two classes, both must be at the same school site.
- Busing: Ensure your bus request matches the school site of your child's class(es). See transportation section below for full busing details.
- Class Limits: Students may select two classes and a bus.
- Exception: "Getting Ready for Kindergarten" and "Getting Ready for First Grade" are double-period classes. For these, select only one class and a bus.
- Alternate Classes: It is highly recommended to select at least one alternate class. Classes with low enrollment may be canceled.

- Grade Level: Register based on the grade your student will enter in Fall 2026. (Example: A current 9th grader registers for 10th-grade classes).
- Class Limits: Students may select one in-person class per session (two total).
- eAcademy Limit: Only one eAcademy class is allowed per student.
- NOTE: Only one in-person class allowed with eAcademy. See eAcademy section below for more details.
- High School Credit Recovery: If a student failed a graduation requirement, a counselor will contact you. Parents cannot register for credit recovery in IC.
- High School Credit: High school students may only miss a maximum of one day to earn course credit due to DPI hourly requirements.

- Alternates: Always choose at least one alternate class. Some classes may be canceled if enrollment is low.

eAcademy Important Reminders
- Credit: eAcademy provides enrichment classes worth 0.50 credit. All classes involve 16 weeks of content completed during the 6 weeks of summer school.
- Orientation: In-person attendance is required for all eAcademy students on June 5 (times assigned by enrollment). Students enrolled in Advanced Phy Ed complete fitness pretest after the meeting.
- Final Exams: Proctored at West High School on July 16.
- eAcademy: eAcademy provides quality enrichment classes worth 0.50 credit during the six-week summer school period. All classes are taught by OASD teachers.

9-12 Busing
A shuttle service bus between North and West High Schools is available.
K-8 Busing
Limited busing available at designated pickup/dropoff sites.
If you want your K-8 student to be bussed from one of the Summer School pickup and drop off locations, you must sign up for busing during the online registration process.
- Routes and locations are below, listed by site. Busing services fill up quickly.
- Busing is only available for students entering grades K-8.
- Busing cannot be added once registration closes.
For students who ride the bus (entering grades K-8):
- Students will arrive at the summer school site in time for free breakfast at Jefferson, Oaklawn, Menominee, and Vel Phillips. Breakfast is not served at the Perry Tipler site.
- Buses will load after the lunch period. Students may choose to eat school lunch, bring their own lunch, or sit quietly until the buses arrive.
- Free lunch will be served at Jefferson, Oaklawn, Menominee, and Vel Phillips. A paid lunch will be available at Perry Tipler.
- Bus pickup/drop-off times will be sent along with course information.
